Summer’s here to stay and Surf House is the ideal place to take it all in. Not only is it right by the sea in Barceloneta, but it also has healthy food to help maintain your beach bod. With its Beach Boys feel, this place not only serves great food and drinks but also promotes a healthy lifestyle.
Not everything here is a healthy super food – they have a great cocktail menu with temptations like the Japan Mary (sake, tomato juice, wasabi and ginger) and the Shane Cucumber (Saint Germain liqueur and Don Julio tequila). You can make up for these indulgences by participating in their various workouts: run barefoot along the beach, or try their Full Moon Paddle Surf where you can enjoy a view of the full moon from the Mediterranean sea.
Their original burgers, like the Namaste Tandoori (chicken with tandoori sauce, vegetables and mango chutney) and the Cangreburger (a mixture including crab meat, onion, tomato, sour cream and dill), are highlights on the menu. If you’re worried about your waistline, they also have delicious salads – try the Uluwalu (quinoa, spelt, onion, cilantro, carrot, tomato, sesame seeds, avocado, cashews and edamame with a soy vinaigrette). One of their best dishes is also a healthy one, the Alice Mango (lentils with mango, onion, cilantro and a mandarin ginger sauce).
Bagels, waffles, fresh juice and açai bowls are all on offer for breakfast or brunch. And, of course, we can’t forget about dessert: their artisan Mexican ice creams come in all kinds of tempting flavours like mango, spicy chocolate, guava, sour raspberry and margarita.
