If there is a leader among the renowned chefs of the Spanish scene it is La Botillería y Fogón Sacha. Rumor has it that it attracts teachers as Andoni Luis Aduriz, Ferran Adria, Martin Berasategui, Ángel León and Juan Mari Arzak. This restaurant serves homemade food, but what actually keeps them coming back is the succulent “real home food” that Sacha Hormaechea provides daily. Tradition is vital at the Botilleria, as cozy decor has remained intact since its opening 43 years ago. It is recorded in memory as a hidden, small, cozy, warm and stylish location and sets the perfect atmosphere for good food. You will fall in love with this menu’s dishes, for example marinated oysters, one of the most iconic plates, gambas en mortar (a shrimp dish), bread with tomato and anchovies, a delicate Txangurro (crab) mock lasagna, a marrow garnished roasted sirloin or some simple but spotless fried artichokes. He changes the menu daily and prefers to serve all food with either sherry or champagne, but also carries an extensive selection of wines. Deluxe Tavern is the best definition of this iconic place with classic hard core clientele seeking experiences and having fun sharing a table. According to Sacha people come here to make things happen. Great seafood, vegetables, and drinks are what you will find, in this great location with a rich history, Bon Appétit!
